    • Click on "Site settings," indicated by a gray arrow on the right side of the menu option.
    • Locate "Additional permissions" and click on the gray downward-facing arrow to expand the menu.

3. Set Default Settings

    • In the "Additional permissions" menu, scroll down to find the "Protocol handlers" option.
    • Click on the gray right-facing arrow to expand the "Protocol handlers" menu.
    • Under "Default behavior," select the option "Sites can ask to handle protocols."

4. Allow Gmail to Open All Links

    • Open your Gmail account in a new tab.
    • On the right side of the URL's address bar, an icon with two intertwined diamonds will appear.
    • Click on this icon to get a pop-up menu asking, "Allow mail.google.com to open all links?"
    • Select the "Allow" option.

Following these steps will ensure that mailto links open directly in Gmail when using Google Chrome.
